SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City residents have a chance Tuesday night to weigh in on proposed tax increases that will result in the average homeowner paying $22 more over the coming year.

The City Council says the increases are needed to pay for two new library branches and to complete downtown's planned science museum.

Businesses would pay $165 more per year on a $1 million business property.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in room 315 at the Salt Lake City & County Building (451 S. State Street).
