SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store using a metal pipe.
The culprit walked into a Sinclair station at 900 W. North Temple with a pipe late Monday night. Police say he then grabbed the clerk by the shirt and threatened to shoot him if he didn't give him money from the register.
The clerk never saw a gun, but police say the pipe was intimidating enough.
The robber got the money, left the store, jumped into a waiting SUV and drove off. Police say the SUV was a dark-colored vehicle with plate number 62HKJ9. But investigators aren't sure if it was a Utah plate.
