Alex Cabrero Reporting "All the flights are canceled to Denver, so just trying to find another way home."

Travelers stuck in Salt Lake trying to go to Denver still can't get there and it might take awhile before they can. Denver's worst blizzard in years is keeping its airport closed tonight.

For the second day more than 2,000 flights were canceled, more than 5,000 passengers, stranded. Many travelers are stuck here and are hearing they may not be home for Christmas.

Any other week, this would still be bad news for travelers, but because this is Christmas week, it's flat out devastating. Some people have been able to work out flights on airlines not going to or through Denver. Other people are still stuck, and Christmas Eve is now just two nights away.

It's a good thing Santa has reindeer, otherwise relying on an airplane might cause presents to arrive a little late this year.

Elizabeth Young, Flying to Denver: "They're just trying to re-route us through other flights and stuff."

Kevin Williams, Flying to Denver: "We've been stuck here waiting for these guys to set us up."

At a time when most people are busy moving around fast, Salt Lake City international airport has lots of people just sitting around, waiting for one reason.

Mike Fronk: "Denver was shut down."

Yeah, Denver was pounded by a huge snowstorm the past couple of days, forcing its airport to be closed and Sarah Worrall to be nervous.

Sarah Worrall, Flying through Denver: "We've been here since about 3:30, 3:45 this afternoon, and right now, we won't be going home until Christmas Day."

Worrall is a freshman at BYU but is from Oklahoma. Her boyfriend flew out to help her study for finals, but now...

John Lowe: "Now I'm hoping we can get home before Christmas."

Sarah Worrall: "I have his Christmas present, so I guess I could give him his, but honestly, it won't really be Christmas."

This is the first time both of them have been away from home. They're too young to rent a car. So for now, they're just hoping another flight can get them home sooner.

Sarah Worrall: "My sisters are all freaking out. They didn't buy a Christmas tree because they were waiting for me to get home, so, panicking a little."

John Lowe: "We're looking at everything right now. Maybe if they can get us flying out, if not, we might try and take a train."

Denver's airport is hoping to open at about noon tomorrow. Once it does, though, there is going to be a huge back-up jam of flights going in. If you or someone you know is flying to Denver the best way to get information is to call your airline, but right now there aren't a lot of answers.
