SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Authorities in Utah have rescued eight people, including four children, from a sinking boat in Utah Lake.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the 20-foot boat carrying four women and four girls capsized Friday afternoon about a mile and a half from shore.
Utah County Sheriff's Lt. Yvette Rice says officers and state park officials responded after one woman onboard called for help from a cell phone.
The group of family and friends was returning to Pelican Point when 5-foot high waves swamped the boat.
Rice says everyone was wearing a life jacket and none were injured.
