Sandra Yi Reporting A suspect in an armed robbery tried to bust a security camera, but he ended up giving police their best lead.
Police released the surveillance video today.
The robbery happened on December 1st, and police had to work on lightening the surveillance video. The quality now is pretty good. In fact, it shouldn't be too hard to identify one of the suspects.

Fast cash is what two men were after when they stormed into a check cashing store on 4300 South State Street in Murray.
Det. Kenny Bass, Murray Police Department: "It seems like they went in and knew what they were doing. They were pretty bold."
Surveillance video shows the men dressed in dark clothes. One man brandishes a gun, jumps over the counter and shoves the clerk.
Det. Bass: "I guess you really don't know what he'd be thinking as he does it, if he's saying something to her and moving her or letting her know that he's not kidding around."

But his next move gives him away. The man goes to bust the security camera and unknowingly ends up posing for a close-up.
Det. Bass: "He stopped the camera, but he didn't stop what he had already recorded. If you knew him, I think you'd be able to recognize him immediately."
The men threatened the clerk, who, according to the store manage, was so shaken, she quit her job. She gave the men some cash and they got away. Police hope the video will lead to an arrest.
Det. Bass: "Producing a handgun takes a lot, and threatening to use it against somebody, you never know how far they would go."
The other suspect was with a man with a light reddish moustache. His face was not captured on tape.
Police are looking into whether they could be involved in other robberies.
