(KSL News) Fire crews were busy overnight with a couple different fires.
First, an elderly woman was getting ready for bed in her mobile home near 45th S. Aspen Lane, when her lights began to flicker. She reset her circuit breaker. The power came back on and then went out again.
She smelled smoke, called 911, then got her dog and went to a neighbor's.
Crews were able to quickly put out the fire, which they believe was electrical. The fire caused about 15-thousand dollars worth of damage.
Another fire was reported in Midvale. This one started in a garage near a water softener.
It appears heating strips used to keep pipes from freezing caused the fire. The strips contain wires which, if crossed, could cause a short.
No one was injured in either fire.
