OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Weber County has refinanced the bond funding for the Eccles Conference Center, saving more than $1 million.
County Clerk/Auditor Alan McEwan says the refinancing of the conference center and a portion of the Weber Center will save $1.36 million over the remaining 10 years of the $22.65 million bond.
Interest rates dropped in the bad economy, opening the door for the refinancing.
Commissioner Jan Zogmaister says it's tough to find good economic news these days, but this was good news for taxpayers.
