PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A man accused in the presumed death of a Spanish Fork teen eleven years ago has filed a notice that he's appealing his perjury conviction and prison sentence.
Yesterday, Timmy Brent Olsen filed the official notice of appeal in the case involving Kiplyn Davis.
Olsen was convicted back in July of 15 counts of perjury and then sentenced last month to 12 1/2 years in prison. He had been accused of lying to a federal grand jury who was investigating the 1995 disappearance of Davis.
The 29-year-old plans to ask the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver to overturn his perjury conviction. Olsen also faces another trial on a state charge of murder.
