I touched base with Dave Rose via voice mail today, and was pleased to get a message back, indicating that his recovery is going well--so well that he hopes to get out and see some players during the back half of the summer recruiting visitation period. It was only a couple of minutes of telephone time, but it was typical Coach Rose, ready to roll.
The exchange of messages had me thinking that I should contact BYU Basketball Media Relations Director Kyle Chilton with a formal request for some interview time. Right as I was ready to give Kyle a call, Kyle called to notify me that Coach Rose is making himself available for some one-on-one interviews this Thursday--to discuss his health and BYU's upcoming non-conference schedule, which the school hopes to release earlier that day.
So, check back here on Thursday for the audio of my one-on-one with Coach Rose, and an anticipated breakdown of BYU's non-conference hoops slate. By the way, the MWC expects to have its teams' complete basketball schedules ready for release on or around August 15th.

Brazil's Senior National "B" team defeated Cape Verde 90-72 this afternoon in its opener at the Jogos da Lusofonia tournament, in Almada, Portugal. A boxscore is not yet available, but as it is posted, I will update with Jonathan Tavernari's stats. For the time being, I know JT had 10 points, and was one of six Brazilian players in double figures.
Brazil next faces the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Thursday at 2:15pm, MT.
