SALT LAKE CITY -- A man accused in the death of a woman at Jordanelle Reservoir has been charged with first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Joshua Binkerd ordered fellow gang member Christopher Alvey to shoot Ashley Sparks last December. Sparks, 21, was found shot four times and barely clinging to life at the visitor's center at Jordanelle State Park the day after Christmas 2008. She later died at a hospital.

Prosecutors allege Binkerd wanted to prevent Sparks from testifying against him for dealing drugs. He's already in prison for forgery and theft.

Alvey was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for pulling the trigger.
