PROVO -- In the weak economy, more people are looking for work behind the wheel of an ice cream truck.

"Those who previously worked in other positions are now looking for a new way to earn money," said Provo City spokeswoman Helen Anderson.

She says six new business licenses have been granted for ice cream vending so far this year. Another is pending. Usually there are two or three.

City leaders chalk it up to the entrepreneurial spirit.
