SALT LAKE CITY -- Family and friends bid farewell to several hundred soldiers at Fort Douglas Wednesday.

The 340th Army Reservists are part of the 96th Sustainment Brigade, which was activated last October. For many, this will be first time they are deployed.

"You bring this honor to your unit, you bring this honor to your country, and you bring this honor to your family," one soldier said.

The soldiers will go to Taji, Iraq, where they will manage and transport supplies, food, fuel ammunition and equipment to those fighting on the front line. They'll first head to Fort Hood, Texas, then to Iraq for one year.
