HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah (AP) -- Some of the electricity used at Hill Air Force Base will soon come from the sun.
Base officials on Thursday plan to flip the switch for about 1,400 solar panels. The project is part of a ground-based solar-array system in a field west of the base.
The panels could be capable of generating about 230 kilowatts.
A ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning and will include Col. Patrick Higby, commander of the 75th Air Base Wing.
