SALT LAKE CITY -- Palm is launching its answer to the iPhone, the Pre, this weekend. It may be a last ditch effort to save the smartphone maker.
It's sleek, black and has plenty of Internet buzz. There are many show-and-tell videos on YouTube, but on the streets of Salt Lake, it's a harder sell.
One woman told us, "I know nothing about it."
Blake Halladay has read up on the Pre but he says the iPhone has simply spoiled people.
"The whole draw for the iPhone lately is that you can get a whole bunch of extra cool stuff," he said.
There is also the bottom line for people like Jeff Plumb. Unlike the iPhone, this also has a qwerty keyboard. The camera may be a drawback. The only thing you can control is the flash.
