SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A fallen Utah Marine will soon be honored by having a Salt Lake City street named after him.
City officials will soon add Adam Galvez's name to 300 South between I-15 and Redwood Road. He was killed in Iraq in August by a roadside bomb. The 21-year-old is the first known Salt Lake City resident to have died in the Iraq war.
The Salt Lake City Council will officially vote on the street name change next month on December 5th. Most council members have already said they would vote in favor of "Adam Galvez Street."
Fifteen-year-old Junior Cruz, a Boy Scout, proposed the name change to earn his Eagle.
