WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) -- The author of a popular series of L-D-S children's books has been sentenced.
Yesterday, a judge ordered Christopher Heimerdinger to pay more than $300 in fines and serve one year of probation. He's charged with one count of criminal mischief that stems from a domestic incident last January.
The court also ordered the author to take a 16-week domestic-violence and anger-management class.
Authorities say Heimerdinger went to his estranged wife's apartment back in January. Officers say he forced his way into the apartment by kicking the door down. Police say his action was done in front of their children.
Heimerdinger is best known for his "Tennis Shoes" series of books geared toward youth of The Latter Day Saint Church.
