COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS -- A family that pleaded guilty to selling prescription drugs in Cottonwood Heights will now get to spend jail time together.

Tears and sobs came from family and friends of Luanne and Michael Olson as a judge told them they would not be going to prison but they would both spend 180 days in jail and 36 months probation for selling prescription drugs from their home.

U.S. Assistant Attorney General Lana Taylor says it's a message to anyone else trying to get prescriptions from a doctor and then turning around and selling the pills.

"This may make them think twice about that," she said.

The couple's 19-year-old son also took a plea deal for helping his mother sell the drugs and collect the money. He'll be sentenced in July.
