SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Investigators think alcohol contributed to a serious accident on Interstate 15 overnight.
Unified Fire Battalion Chief Brent Speirs says an SUV rolled onto its side in the southbound lanes just south of the Bangerter Highway exit.
A woman in her mid-20s had her leg amputated in the wreck. She was flown to a nearby hospital. Two other people in the woman's SUV were taken by ambulance to the hospital. People inside another car involved in the accident were not injured.
Speirs says it looks like alcohol was a factor in the crash. Authorities aren't sure if speed was also a factor.
