SALT LAKE CITY -- Protecting canyons for the future was top of mind for state, county and city officials Thursday. Gov. Jon Huntsman and Mayors Peter Corroon and Ralph Becker kicked off "Wasatch Canyons Tomorrow."
The campaign is asking Utahns for suggestions on how the seven major Wasatch canyons should be managed. "They define who we are. They define our quality of life, and we, to a certain extent, help define the canyons by how we use them," Huntsman said.
The leaders hope the campaign will help them develop a new canyon management plan that will both accommodate for and protect the canyons against future growth. [CLICK HERE for more information]
