PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A judge has extended the jail time for a former Utah County commissioner who is already serving 60 days.
Court records show 4th District Court Judge Christine Johnson has ordered David Gardner to serve an additional 14 days in jail for violating the terms of his probation in an assault case against a Payson woman.
The 60-day sentence was for violating probation on a drunken-driving case in Springville.
In August, Gardner pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of simple assault for groping and kissing a Payson woman. He was sentenced to a year of probation.
A judge told him then that if he broke any law, he would go to jail. On April 6, Gardner pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended driver's license and without an ignition interlock device in his car.
