FARMINGTON -- Officials from Lagoon are hoping their new attraction, Jumping Dragon, can bring more people into their park.

Lagoon has been open for about a month this season, but so far ticket sales have been slow. The main reason: the weather.

"It does seem like it only rains on the weekends," said Dick Andrew, vice president of marketing for Lagoon.

Still, Andrew says he's not too worried because the weather has been known to bring down April numbers sometimes. So for now, those low numbers don't mean much

"The weekends in May will get busier and busier," he said.

There is speculation saying the down economy will keep more local customers here in Utah, and regional parks like Lagoon could benefit. Andrew says talk to him in a month, and we'll see if that's true.

The new attraction, Jumping Dragon, spins up to 36 riders at a time at 13 revolutions per minute, and it switches directions mid-ride.
