SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- More than $10.7 million in federal stimulus money will be used for improvements at Dugway Proving Ground.

The Department of Defense said Tuesday it released the money for the projects at the army facility.

The money will help fund a backlog of maintenance projects, such as outmoded power generating equipment and dilapidated buildings. About $7.5 million of the money will be spent repairing the site's power plant and replacing failing generators.

Other funds will be used to re-roof the Provost Marshall Office, upgrade the electrical service at the main gate and construct a Mobile Command Post garage.

Tooele Army Depot will receive $265,000 for road repair.
