SALT LAKE CITY -- The bogged-down move of a historic downtown Salt Lake building may soon get rolling again.
For several months the Odd Fellows Hall has sat 11 feet above ground after disagreements erupted over how to move it across Market Street.
But now a Layton Construction official tells the Deseret News the path has been reinforced with steel plates, which means crews could begin moving the 5-million pound load as early as Monday, weather permitting.
The building's new location will be between The New Yorker and The Melting Pot restaurants near 360 S. West Temple.
