SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah Highway Patrol trooper went to the hospital after trying to fend off an attack from an angry woman Saturday night.

UHP says the woman was driving a stolen truck. A trooper pulled her over near 1800 West and North Temple around 6:45 p.m. UHP says when she got out of the truck, she hit the trooper in the head with a shoe and then bit him.
He tried to stop her, but witnesses say she wouldn't let up.
Thelan Jackson saw it happen. "She kept attacking him. He Tasered her again, and then the cop dog got her, was biting her. She's fighting the dog, and she kept running. He Tasered her again," he explained.

The woman ran down the road. When troopers caught up with her she threw a cleaning chemical in their faces. Troopers then used a Taser on her and finally were able to take her down.
They took her and a man who was in the truck with her to jail.
The trooper went to the hospital as a precaution but was not seriously hurt.
