SALT LAKE CITY -- Former Utah Congressman Bill Orton was remembered in Washington, D.C., Tuesday evening with a moment of silence.

"We certainly want to offer our condolences to Bill's wife, Jacqueline, his sons, Will and Wes, and with that I ask that the House recognize this with a moment of silence," Rep. Jim Matheson said.

Orton was killed Saturday in an ATV accident at Little Sahara Recreation Area in Juab County.

A public viewing will take place Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary on South Temple in Salt Lake. On Friday, Orton's funeral will be held at noon at the Federal Heights LDS Ward.

Orton will be buried at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
