SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Gov. Jon Huntsman is considering a request to call lawmakers into a special session next month.
Huntsman spokeswoman Lisa Roskelley says legislative leaders have been in contact with the governor about fixing some education budget issues during a May special session, which would likely coincide with regularly scheduled interim meetings.
Huntsman vetoed part of a budget bill that transfers money between education funds because of errors that need some technical corrections. Roskelley says the cause of the veto and some technical budget issues would likely be corrected if a special session were called.
Only the governor can call a special session and he gets to decide what will be on its agenda.
Roskelley says no decision on whether to hold a special session has been made.
