TOOELE COUNTY -- Deadly mustard agent was detected at the Deseret Chemical Depot in Tooele County Tuesday.
A routine visual inspection of a storage igloo turned up a small amount of dried mustard agent residue leaking from a bulk container.
Depot workers in protective clothing placed an air-tight containment device on the bulk container. They will replace its valves and a plug before returning it to the storage igloo.
Depot officials say the earth-covered storage structure is equipped with a filter and no vapor escaped to the environment.
