WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Sheriff's deputies in Washington County are investigating the death of a person found inside a burning car. A rancher reported seeing the burning SUV early Thursday morning near Hurricane.
When deputies arrived, the small car, described as a red or maroon Kia, had been gutted by fire. As with the two burned bodies found in recent weeks in the northern part of the state, the body inside this vehicle was too badly charred to be identified as a man or woman.
Washington County officials are sending the body to Salt Lake to determine cause of death. They are hoping anyone with information about the identity of the victim will contact them at 435-634-5730.
