Research shows that married men spend about nine hours a week on household chores as opposed to married women who spend 20 hours a week doing housework. This disproportion can cause friction in a marriage relationship if the wife begins to feel angry, frustrated, or resentful. Even more of a concern is that resentment can build until she feels resentful of her role as a wife. Matt discusses this topic and suggests that part of this disparity may come from culture and upbringing. Conflict about how the household chores are divided also has a lot to do with expectations.
