GREEN RIVER -- A La Sal woman died in a car wreck on U.S. 6 near Green River, but somehow her infant survived.
The Highway Patrol says 32-year-old Miriam Cox fell asleep while she was driving and rolled her car off the road Saturday morning.
Cox was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. Her baby, who was ejected from the car while in a car seat, survived.
Troopers say the car rolled several times but never over the baby.
The child went to the hospital with head injuries but is expected to survive.
