(KSL News) Former Olympic skier Jeremy Nobis was known for his speed on the downhill. But now, speeding on Park City's streets has him going to jail.
A judge sentenced Nobis - an Olympic ski racer turned freeskier - to 62 days in the Summit County Jail.
But in yesterday's decision he allowed Nobis to serve his time in two segments, starting October 27 and then again next May. That's before and after the regular ski season.
Prosecutors say last March, Nobis led Park City police on a chase. Officers say Nobis drove into a tree, collided with a police car, then tried to run away.
Nobis is well known for his Olympic racing and roles in ski movies.
Prosecutors say Nobis also had drunk driving convictions in 1999 and 2005.
