SALT LAKE CITY-- Tooele police say a man and a teenage boy are suspects in connection with the Halloween theft and decapitation of two pygmy goats.
The goats -- Daisy and Duke -- were the pets of a Tooele family. The 12-inch-tall animals were taken from a backyard pen on Oct. 31 and later found decapitated at North Lake Elementary School.
The suspects' names have not been released. Earlier reports indicated the suspects had been arrested. Now Lt. Paul Wimmer tells KSL no arrests have been made but a report has been referred to prosecuting attorneys for possible criminal charges.
The Humane Society of Utah offered a $3,000 reward for information that led to an arrest and conviction in the case. Humane Society investigator John Paul Fox says they agency will work with the county attorney to determine if the reward should be paid.
