(KSL News) The Humane Society is offering a reward in the case of two pygmy goats that were stolen and killed.

The goats were stolen Halloween night. A neighbor found three teenagers slicing the goats' throats at a nearby school. By the time police arrived, the teens were gone.

Gene Baierschmidt, Executive Director of the Humane Society, said, "These were gentle, tiny pets — each only 12 inches tall — and the Linnells [the goats' owners] had bonded closely with them…I don't even bother any more asking myself how anyone could do something like this; it's just utterly stupid, pointless cruelty."

The Humane Society is offering a $3,000 reward to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The Animal Advocacy Alliance of Utah is also offering a $2,000 reward for the same type of information.
