(KSL News) The famous "Y" above BYU turns 100 this year.
This year is the centennial celebration and fans are invited to hike to the "Y" tonight or following the BYU game this Saturday.
Anyone who completes the climb will receive a commemorative pin.
The original plan in 1906 was to put "BYU" across the mountain. But after the "Y" was placed, the rest of the project was postponed, then canceled. The rest is history.
