(KSL News) -- Intermountain Healthcare joined the fight against domestic violence with a two million dollar donation to the YWCA.
The money will help expand the YWCA campus, helping women have a place to go when they leave an abusive situation. Current rooms will be remodeled to give women their own bathroom and a partial kitchen.
Mary McArthey, YWCA "It will give them space and a little bit of freedom to be on their own if they need it."
They also hope to add an additional 25 rooms, allowing them to accommodate more victims.
Intermountain Health Care says domestic violence is a health issue, with women and children being treated for injuries they recieved in violent situations.
