(KSL News) Police are investigating a deadly wreck in the west part of the Salt Lake valley.
A Suzuki was on Highway 201 at about 4900 West when it crossed over the median and hit a Toyota head on.
The driver of th Suzuki, 20-year-old Angela Garrick of Magna, was killed. Her boyfriend was taken to LDS Hospital.
Crews had to use the Jaws of Life to get the 27-year-old driver of the Toyota out. She was taken to the University of Utah Hospital in critical condition.
Sgt. Brian Smith / Utah Highway Patrol: "The engine of the vehicle that was eastbound actually ended up on the north side of 201, so there was quite a high impact speed."
Everyone was wearing seatbelts. Police say they are trying to find out why the driver of the Suzuki drifted into the median.
