(KSL News) The family of a Vernal woman who survived a crash on Highway 40 spoke out today.

Deborah Alexander was in a van with her husband Parley when it crashed on Monday, near Daniel's Canyon. Parley did not survive, and Deborah is recovering at University Hospital.

Today, her family released this statement, saying:

"On behalf of the Alexander family, we wish to thank all those who helped in the search and for those who have offered assistance in numerous ways! We want to express our gratitude to God in sending us strength at this time and for preserving mom. She is doing well, and her condition is moving in the right direction."

If you would like to help, donations to the Deborah Alexander Fund are accepted at any Mountain America Credit Union branch.
