(KSL News) New reports show tires on a Utah State University van that crashed in Box Elder County last year, may have been under-inflated.
Eight USU students and their instructor died in the wreck in 2005.
Now, the Herald Journal newspaper in Logan says findings in a federal report says university officials were not aware "tire pressure was a critical issue" prior to the accident.
Two National Transportation Safety Board investigators conducted the report. They also investigated 15-passenger van crashes in North Carolina and Texas, and concluded under-inflated tires "altered the vehicle's dynamics," causing them to overturn.
