FM 100's Jill Atwood ReportingIt's a trap busy working moms and housewives can fall into. They may think they're running the house, but the house is really running them.

It's time to throw away the to-do list and just do what you can, when you can. Here's the best part, you don't have to feel guilty, you're off the hook.

Hannah Keeley, Author: "A lot of women, they want the perfect home, but if you try to get the perfect home you're not going to get anything done because you're not going to want to start a job because you know it's not going to be finished to your standards. So forget perfection."

The bathrooms, the kitchen, the dusting, the floors -- it will all get done eventually, but it doesn't have to get done all at once.

Hannah Keeley: "In four minutes you can collect the dirty dishes throw them in the sink, with soapy water. And then while they are soaking you can wipe off the surface areas so at least it looks clean."

Hannah Keeley: "You can do the same thing in the bathroom. People dread cleaning the bathroom, but really if you maintain it you can clean it in three minutes. You can go through with your non-toxic cleaner get all the surface areas. And here's a trick that I love, spray the cleaner on the floor, throw the rag down and then mop it up with your foot."

The key is to keep on top of chores and of course the clutter.

Hannah Keeley: "Have a timer sitting out and your kids can help you.Set the timer for two minutes and try to find as many things to give away or throw away."

Keeley says if you make it a family affair things will get done, and you may have a little fun along the way, not to mention you'll have a lot more time with your family in the long run.

Keeley also suggests an air filtration system, it will cut down on the dust in your home and make the air healthier overall.
