KSL Newsradio's Randall Jeppeson reportingOne of the country's largest college bookstores is celebrating its 100th birthday this week. As part of the party, college students are out searching their campus for hidden treasures.
Roughly 400 employees work at the three-story bookstore, which started 100 years ago as little more than a broom closest big enough for only one person. But now to celebrate, 100 gifts have been hidden around campus.
"It's outside, in no buildings, let's put it that way," said bookstore marketing specialist Kaylene Vest. She says those presents can be anything from a gift certificate to a video iPod. That has Andrew Gleaves out searching.
"I found some hidden in trees, in bushes, and in planter boxes," said Gleaves.
They also gave a $1,000 away to the student with the best picture of a BYU Bookstore bag. The winner was an Eskimo girl ice fishing in Alaska using a bookstore bag to hold her fish.
