(KSL News) A trial date has been set in a dispute over downtown property.
The government wants to purchase the Port O'Call property and use it to expand the federal courthouse on Main Street in Salt Lake. The government's condemnation suit values the building and land at about $5.5 million, but the owners say the fair market value is substantially higher than that.
On Nov. 2, a jury will decide how much the property is actually worth. The judge in the case has urged both sides to try to reach a settlement before then in order to save time and money.
