(KSL News) -- The man who confessed to sexually abusing elderly woman at a care center now says he told the lie to get out of a failing marriage.
Jesus Partida is scheduled to stand trial next week on sex-abuse charges, but the case won't go forward until the judge decides if the confession can be used as evidence.
Partida testified he wanted an excuse "get out of the marriage and abuse was one of the reasons to get a divorce."
Patrida's confession is the only evidence in the case.
