(KSL News) Today's High 5 goes to a woman who makes people smile every day. Tammie Beach is a hospice nurse at Harmony Home Health. Her co-workers say she goes beyond the call of duty to help make wishes come true for patients there.

Tammie has been working as a nurse for the past 10 years; the last few years as a hospice nurse. She participates in a program called One Last Wish.

Co-worker Sheri Swanson explained, "It's like ‘Make a Wish' for children, but for the elderly during their last days or years. Tammie's been phenomenal in helping assist in that. She does go above and beyond. She does a lot of things for her patients. She brings them treats and all sorts of fun things."

We surprised Tammie with a High 5 this morning at her home in Sandy.

She said, "I love what I do. The people that I serve are the most amazing people."

"I have always loved nursing, but hospice is my heart. I just love what we do, and I don't do it alone, obviously," she said.
