(KSL News) A snowboarder is out of the cold and unharmed this morning after being lost for several hours at Powder Mountain Ski Resort.
Crews worked through the night to find the woman after she was separated from her group yesterday afternoon around 1:30.
Brandon Toll of the Weber County Sheriff's Office explained, "She was a little bit behind them as they were going down the Hidden Lakes runs, and that's the last time they saw her."
Officials say the woman got lost when she started following skiers' tracks outside resort boundaries.
Crews went out in full force to search for her on snowmobiles, skis and snowshoes, as well as by air.
The woman says when she saw the search helicopter last night, she began following it and intersected with searchers on snowmobiles around 3 a.m.
Despite spending hours in the cold, the woman is doing fine. "She's really tired but she's in good health and safe," Toll said.
Officials say the woman is from Sweden and visiting friends in Montana.
