The Utah Jazz received good news this weekend about their all-star power forward. Carlos Boozer underwent surgery on his damaged left knee on Friday. Everything went very well, and doctors say he could be back in action a month from now.

According to a release from the Utah Jazz organization, all loose pieces of cartilage in the knee area were removed and everything else in the knee joint was found to be fine.

Boozer will now undergo a four-week rehabilitation program, after which his return to activity will be re-evaluated. He has already missed seven weeks of play. After three MRIs couldn't determine the cause of his pain, doctors finally decided to go ahead with surgery.

Boozer has now missed 115 games during his career with the Jazz. That has upset many fans, but his coach and teammates support him and look forward to his return. He was averaging 20.5 points and 11.7 rebounds before injuring his lower quad and knee Nov. 19 against Milwaukee.
