(KSL News) New video has been released in connection to a lawsuit from a woman claiming she was a victim of racial profiling by the Utah Highway Patrol.
A trooper says, "So there's nothing illegal in the vehicle, so you wouldn't mind if I searched your vehicle?"
The woman, Sherida Felders, answered, "Yeah, I do mind if you search it."
She refused permission for the trooper to search her car for drugs during a traffic stop near Cedar City last month. Felders claims the search was racially motivated because she's black and she had two black teenagers in the car.
On the video she said, "This doesn't make no sense. I don't even do drugs."
The trooper responded, "I've been doing this for a long time."
The trooper and a drug-sniffing dog didn't find anything in the car. The UHP has said the trooper would've acted the same no matter the race of the people in the car.
