The digital television switch happens next month, and it will affect even the little TV out in the camp trailer.
Winter isn't the busiest time for RV sales. But Russ Temple at Russ Temple Motors in Orem says when you do start thinking about warm spring trips in the trailer or motor home, don't forget about the switch to digital television.
"They would need to purchase a digital converter box because they have the old-fashioned style antenna," he said.
He estimates 90 percent of camp trailers and motor homes with TVs still are using analog systems with those crank-up antennas. That means they won't work after the digital switch in February without a converter box or a newer, digital TV. So there could be a few surprised campers in the spring.
