(KSL News) Passengers of Northwest Airlines will see some changes at the Salt Lake International Airport.

The merger of Northwest Airlines with Delta Air Lines means there will be changes in gate usage and bag claim operations at the airport.

Starting today, Northwest passengers will depart and arrive from gates on the C concourse in Terminal 2 instead of gate A4 in Terminal 1.

Passengers will claim their bags in Terminal 2, but the ticket counter will remain in Terminal 1 until Jan. 26.

The merged airlines are also cutting some flights to international destinations. Delta and Northwest Airlines have decided to delay or cut several flights to Europe and China because of poor market conditions.

A Delta spokesperson says international flights from Salt Lake to Paris and Tokyo will not be affected.
