Sep. 26--A 44-year-old woman called 911 on a cell phone Monday after apparently being stuck in an elevator for 17 hours.
According to Rochester Police Capt. Brian Winters, the woman contacted police for help at about 7:30 a.m., reporting she was in an elevator at a townhome construction site in the 4600 block of Prairie View Place Northwest.
Police forced their way into the locked building and found the woman in the elevator. Winters said the woman might have been moving into the new building and somehow got locked in the elevator. She was taken to Olmsted Medical Center Hospital for evaluation, Winters said.
