STOCKTON, Utah (AP) -- Workers at Deseret Chemical Depot contained a liquid mustard agent leak a at the facility today.
About two tablespoons of the agent was discovered leaking during routine monitoring operations in a storage igloo.
Depot workers in protective clothing removed the leaking container to a different structure. The container's plugs and valves will be replaced.
In a separate operation, workers replaced a valve suspected of leaking mustard agent vapor from another bulk container.
The storage igloo is covered by earth and the air inside is filtered. Depot officials say NO vapor escaped, and there was NO danger to the surrounding community.
The depot is about 40 miles west of Salt Lake City.
